This month’s featured programme is the ITMB Tech Industry Gold accredited degree offered by Loughborough University. First established in 2007, this programme is headed up by Professor Ray Dawson and delivered through an enthusiastic partnership between the Computer Science department and the School of Business and Economics. Loughborough has been ranked the top university in England for overall student satisfaction in the 2019 National Student Survey (NSS) and 2nd in the UK for overall satisfaction in Computer Science.
As well as following the industry-approved curriculum, students at Loughborough embrace the many opportunities Tech Industry Gold programmes offer for them to engage with employers and showcase their capabilities – the spotlight feature provides examples of how they have benefitted.
Professor Ray Dawson explains: ‘Our Tech Industry Gold accredited degree covers a vibrant mix of transferable skills and knowledge for those who want exciting and challenging management or professional careers designing, developing and implementing technology solutions for businesses.’
‘The Tech Industry Gold accredited degree was designed to offer an insight into the real world of the tech industry. It allows students to learn about the people and project management skills required to be a successful IT professional. Students learn to evaluate and understand technology and its role within business and to gain practical experience working on real world business challenges. The degree is taught in conjunction with the School of Business and Economics to provide the essential mix of expert teaching and support for students to become professionals in an industry where this combination of skills is in high demand’.
