Brunel University London is a single campus university based in Uxbridge, West London. The University is within walking distance of both Uxbridge underground station (Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines) and West Drayton (Crossrail). The multidisciplinary university is rich in diversity and home to over 14,000 students from 150 countries.

By choosing Brunel, apprentices will be entering a close-knit academic community, where they will be given the tools, opportunities, and environment to achieve and succeed. Brunel focuses on applying theory to real-world problems, where apprentices will be supported and surrounded by academics who have made a name for themselves in the industry as well as academia. The programmes offer an inspirational education experience that instils academic knowledge, independent learning skills and the life skills sought by employers.  Apprentices will be taken to the cutting edge of their subject through research-led teaching and experiential work-based learning and encouraged to embrace innovation and intrapreneurship.

Brunel has a proud tradition and distinguished reputation for working with more than 1,700 businesses and one of the UK’s top 10% of ‘Universities for Innovation and Business Partnerships’.  With over 50 years of experience working with local and national organisations, Brunel understands the importance of work-based learning, developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed in the workplace.  Today, Brunel works with organisations, regionally, nationally and internationally, providing expertise and services ranging from world-leading collaborative research and design projects, specialist training, talent recruitment and much more.

As the UK’s first university to achieve the Government-backed Investors in People, Invest in Apprentices accreditation (Gold), is developed to measure and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality apprenticeships across the UK.

Ensuring that apprenticeship programmes stay relevant to apprentices and employer needs is the foundation of a great Brunel apprenticeship programme.  The Tech Industry Gold accreditation enables Brunel to work closely with employers to ensure their digital programmes meet and exceed industry standards, enabling employers to attract and retain top digital talent. With these factors in mind, they offer the Tech Industry Gold Degree Apprenticeship.

‘Brunel is proud to offer Tech Industry Gold Degree Apprenticeships such as our Digital and Technology Solutions Specialist (Data Analytics) Master’s Degree Apprenticeship. The programme meets all industry standards for quality, relevance and employer focus, helping apprentices to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours to become successful Data Analytics Specialists,’ says Rebecca Lingwood, Provost of Brunel University London.

By building upon and enhancing strong links with industry, Brunel is creating an innovative higher and degree apprenticeship offer across the university. From training the next generation of police officers tackling crime on London streets to teaching hundreds of new NHS apprentices building the workforce capacity and capability across London.

With strong foundations, outstanding resources and facilities, Brunel has designed a flexible and innovative apprenticeship programme that meets and exceeds the requirements of employer partners.  With the offer of innovative dual-delivery models offering learning face to face or online, apprentices benefit from everything that comes with being a member of the Brunel community whilst balancing the needs of the workplace.

Brunel is also working with local and national employers across several industry sectors, helping to design new apprenticeship standards that will tackle skill shortages and recovery from covid19.
